You will assist in monitoring the Wi-Fi quality within UM-buildings.
To perform this effectively, you'll be on the road three days a week in various university buildings.
You have affinity with ICT and strong communication skills, as you'll also be required to take measurements, for example in spaces where lectures are held.
This is a temporary position until all the UM-buildings have been inspected and verified.
You will receive a salary of €18,40 per hour, plus an 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus.

Responsibilities
You will be working for ICT support team at the University, but in principle you will be working in all the university buildings. In that respect, no day will be the same.
You will make a tour of the buildings and perform measurements in the offices, lecture halls and meeting rooms. It is possible that there will be people present in the room. You will use your strong communication skills to clearly explain to them why you are there and what you are going to do.
Of course, you will receive a short instruction beforehand, after which you will continue to work independently. You will therefore need good planning skills and will have to coordinate with building managers and porters when you need to enter certain rooms. In such cases, you may be supervised.
Requirements
The ideal candidate for this work is a student with an interest in ICT, technology, or network environments and has strong communication skills and can work independently.
You can work accurately and according to instructions - the measurements must be carefully performed and documented.
It is also important that you are independent and that you do not mind carrying out work with students or staff in the same room. Furthermore, you are presentable and can briefly and friendly explain why you are carrying out the work.

You will contribute to the development of a European university. This is being done by a department within University Maastricht (UM) that collaborates with 10 other European universities.
To achieve this goal, a Virtual Campus platform is used where various users (such as students, academic staff, researchers, etc.) can carry out various activities such as registering for courses and activities across the different universities.
You will be working 16 hours per week within the regular working days (monday through friday between 08:30-17:00 pm). The exact working days and work location (office or at home) can be discussed. This position is temporary for 10 months. Preferably, you are able to start on 02-03-2026.
For this position you will receive a salary in scale 7 or 8 (€18.56 - €27,23) of the Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universities, depending on your experience. You will also accrue 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% year-end bonus.

Responsibilities
Your main responsibility will be assisting the users of the Virtual Campus platform with any upcoming issues and/or questions. This can vary from not being able to log in, not being able to register or not being able to see a course they have signed up for. Users can also have questions about the platform such as how to register or where to find the right course. It is up to you to provide the solution and to give explanation when necessary.
Furthermore, you will also contribute in other tasks, such as giving insights to the administrators who have to implement any changes in the platform, changing a lay-out of a program, or thinking along in the optimalization of the user experience. You will do these type of tasks when necessary after a meeting with your colleagues.
There is a team of 12 colleagues who work for this department at the office in Maastricht. The team you will work directly with, are spread across the 10 European universities and they work at an office or at home.
Requirements
You have technical knowledge of how platforms work and how they are created. You can easily understand the logic behind it and think in possibilities on how to improve the platform. If you already have experience with troubleshooting or system configuration, that is an added bonus.
Furthermore, you are social, friendly and can communicate fluently in English. You are able to work independently but can also work together in a team. You are able to prioritize your work and carry out the tasks as efficient as possible.
