If you would like to use your skills with graphic design and communication to contribute to communications within a large organization, this vacancy is ideal for you.

For one of the departments at Maastricht University, we are looking for a creative and communicatively strong student to support a communications advisor with both internal and external communication. You will work independently, while collaborating with various stakeholders to create content. This content will be produced, for example, for the UM employee intranet and may be aimed at both students and staff.

You can start around (mid-)September for approximately 16 hours per week and three months. These hours can be scheduled in consultation and may be worked partly from home.

The hourly wage for this position is €18.95 per hour, in addition to 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus.

Responsibilities

You will use your talents to support the department in creating content and developing new communication solutions.

You will do this by, for example, gathering and editing visual materials, organizing photo shoots, and writing texts. In addition, you will critically assess existing and new communication methods and are not afraid to share your ideas and opinions.

To achieve this, you will actively maintain contact with colleagues throughout the university in order to create the necessary content. You are proactive and also take the initiative to think about content that may be interesting or useful.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is proactive, creative, and above all enthusiastic. You are eager to use your knowledge, skills, and talents to develop effective solutions.

You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to effectively engage with and understand both students and staff. You are comfortable critically evaluating situations and identifying solutions, and you are confident in sharing your opinions and ideas.

You are familiar with design software and are proficient in commonly used programs such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva. Experience with video editing would be a strong advantage.

In addition, you must be enrolled at Maastricht University and have a good command of the English language. If you speak Dutch, that’s a big plus.

We are looking for multiple students to participate as a model for a course regarding echo studies for physicians. The course will take place on the following dates:

22-9-2026 09:00 - 16:00 (MUMC+)
23-9-2026 14:00 - 17:00 (MECC)
24-9-2026 14:00 - 17:00 (MECC)
25-9-2026 14:00 - 17:00 (MECC)

The salary is €18,95 per hour.

Responsibilities

The participants will get an echo of their neck, shoulder (clavical), arms and (possibly) groin area. This will be without coverage of the scanned body part. Men and women will be present at the demonstration. The participants will not have do anything other than being present for the echo.

It is not invasive and does not hold any risks. Colourless gel will be used on the skin. Wearing comfortable clothes (e.g. a tracksuit with a swim suit underneath) is advised.

You're available on at least one of the mentioned dates and times, and preferably already have a contract with InterUM.
